Installation - Kiez Burn, Mecklenburg-Vorprommen - Jul 21 - Aug 23
In a valley at the end of the magic realm of Kiez Burn, lies a village of mystical beings. As the sun sets over the tree-lined horizon, the sound of the drums calls the decendants of the gods, flaming torches in hand to the Arena.
The Arena is a fire space, designed for fire performers to safely and performativley practice their craft for theirs and their audiences benefit. The Arena was a decorated space, in the thematics of the classics (roman/greeks), with a complimentary sound-system and audience area to watch. During the daytime we would host a variety of performances and workshops, for example:
- archery combat - using rubber-headed arrows
- flow arts training- training in the tools used to perform with fire: staffs, poi, rope dart, dragons staffs etc
- play fights - floor mats where placed on the sand and safe, guided 1-on-1 wrestling matches were facilitated
- yoga - needs no explination
- the Burn Olympics - A large scale performance LARP, in which contestants can only win by losing better than their opponents
